I'm in my 4th internship leadership now over the past 7 months, and jason on his 3rd.
Every group is different, November was a re-introduction to thailand for me, so it was touch and go for that month, figuring out what I was supposed to do and all, Jan was when Jason came in and I started to warm up. I'd found my feet, but still was trying to find a roll here in Chiang Mai, the Jan Internship helped me figure that out.
People were looking up to me... scary...
May brought 3 of the craziest interns i've ever had to... keep up with...
May was interesting for both me and Jason, we'd both found our feet and voices in terms of speaking thai. We just didn't expect to be taken on a 1 month rollercoaster. Day and night of 3am sleeps and 8am wake ups took its toll, but was well worth it. Sheena, Sharmain and Evan, the three names that I will now and forever fear yet love when I hear them.
I've never had to live with 3 18 year old girls before. And the experience was fun. Being called Dek Noi (childish) by 3 even more childish people was just the beginning, the month included a lot of once in 18 years experiences for the girls, and lots of being used as a pillow for us. On the calender was, a trip to Mae Hong Son (Jenny's home town) to teach an english camp again, Rock Climbing, shopping shopping and shopping, watching P.Ying in her last apperance at Good View (local resturant/live music venue), Big Ass concert (really famous thai metal band), meeting tons of people and teaching them english, 7 colour waterfall suay mak mak, lots of partying at Robert's place, and getting to know titan and woot and P.Yings band really really well. (she still plays and a local place called Monkey Club).
We did a lot and went to a lot of places and drank a lot of coffee over may, and got to know 3 kon dek noi really well. And then we had a week break before the busiest time of the year. Summer internship, which is now in full swing, no more coffee, no more just goin where we want, a lot of teaching, being taught, and being good examples for 5 people from america. it's been fun so far and an eye opener in many ways, and its only just begun. Kyle (Jason's bro), Mark, Merissa and Casey are the interns at payap, and 6 others are at Mawchaw.
Anyway i'm tired, write more later, peace out
Marv always lovin thailand,
oh and now thinking of studying here, yes I will come home sometime in the holidays...
